I don’t have time to come up with a good title

I have been unbelievably busy.

This past month I've been:

  • writing two new pieces of music (one brass feature for wind band, another that's still being sketched out)
  • rounding up musicians to premiere Sound Sequences sometime next Spring
  • going to Canton Youth Symphony rehearsals on Wednesdays from 6-8:45
  • trying to keep up with an insane marching band schedule
  • practicing music for Solo & Ensemble in January (a trombone solo and a piano solo, plus several accompaniments and possibly a trombone quartet and brass choir)
  • barely making it to Malone's symphonic band rehearsals right after marching band
  • filling out college applications
  • preparing audition repertoire
  • completing at least an hour of AP Calculus homework every night
  • trying to make a recording of Photonic Collisions to send in to CIM with the score, which means finding a facility with two pianos available
  • keeping up with piano lessons every Friday

My schedule doesn't typically get this full until at least around Thanksgiving, sometimes a little bit later when all the demand for Christmas music shoots up, conveniently right as contest season begins. As I read over that list, I find myself fighting the urge to just fall over and weep in utter despair. I've already spent too much time typing this post, so I'll just leave it at that.

At least I am now free to comment on your site, which relieves me of my urge to "fall over and weep in utter despair". I just poked around on my old xanga posts last night. Some were pretty good, I might throw one or two up here sometime to help keep the site alive. I miss your writing...
